  • Face-Covering Policy

    logo

Hello Tucson Unified Families and Staff,

Thursday, March 25th, Governor Doug Ducey released a new Executive Order 2021-06 that rescinds a number of previous Executive Orders that have been put in place due to COVID-19.

However, it is important to note that this new Executive Order does not include or rescind Executive Order 2020-51 or the emergency order from Arizona Department of Health Services AZDHS Emergency Measure 2020-04  that specifically requires school districts to have a face-covering policy in place.

The AZDHS Emergency Measure 2020-04 states:

Masks must be worn on school campuses, on school buses, and during school-associated activities, by all students, faculty, staff, contractors, and visitors.

Therefore, at this time, in line with Executive Order 2020-51 and AZDHS Emergency Measure 2020-04, Tucson Unified School District is required to continue with the existing face-covering policy on our properties and our campuses. Tucson Unified School District’s face covering regulation can be found here, along with our other COVID-19 mitigation policies.

Thank you again for your ongoing support as we work together to support the health and wellbeing of our students, families, and the wider community.

    Stay Safe and healthy
